Seminoles
The first Seminoles that ever came to Florida made log cabin like houses about two stories high
and upstairs there were sleeping quarters. The limited supplies of Dry Wetland made the Seminoles
have to use a palmetto thatch and a cypress log frame. The structure will last ten years, but every 5
years you have to replace the Palmetto thatch.
Seminole men went out on canoes and speared fish. They also hunted other animals like
otters, raccoons, bobcats, turtles, alligators, and birds. They also caught deer. They also pick mangos,
Pineapples, Guava, Oranges, Mulberry Trees. They planted Pumpkins, pawpays, and corn.
They live this way because of their climate.
